Apple App Store and IPv6 Support
We are aware that Apple might reject some apps due to lack of IPv6 support.
Our Backend Services (Database, Server Code, API Express) run on the Amazon Cloud. The Amazon Cloud doesn't yet have full support for IPv6. This means our Backend Services don't have support for IPv6.
Even thought our Backend Services don't support IPv6, we know that some apps that use our services have been accepted into the App Store.
We are looking into a possible general solution (such as moving our Backend Services to IPv6 supported cloud) and also trying to understand what exact factors might impact whether an app is accepted or rejected by the App Store. We will update as soon as we have more information.
Update (December 8, 2016):
Amazon had announced support for IPv6.
"IPv6 support for Amazon EC2 is currently available in the US East (Ohio) region, with the support in other AWS regions coming soon. "
Once Amazon rolls IPv6 support to other regions, our Backend Services will be able to leverage IPv6 support.
Update (January 25, 2016):
Appery.io now supports the IPv6 protocol.
